Dez Bryant Above Rookie Hazing

Those of us who have played any type of sports have come across hazing.  It is done in all levels starting in middle school.  The new players on the team have to be the “bitch” for the older players.  If you refuse, then further humiliation will come your way.

Cowboys Sign Rookie WR Bryant

It was announced today that Dez Bryant and the Cowboys agreed on a 5 year deal worth a little over 11 million, 8 of which is guaranteed.  Bryant is the first of the 32 first round picks to agree to terms.  The Cowboys have shown all along their intent to sign Bryant before the start of camp, and this deal is very team friendly.  However, if Bryant lives up to expectations expect him to look for a new deal in year three.  Here’s what Bryant and Stephen Jones had to say:

Jerry Jones Makes an HBO Appearance; Other News

In a summer filled with Lebron-mania and no-hitters, the biggest news out of Big D was Jerry Jones’ appearance on the hit HBO show Entourage.  His cameo in the episode involved the shows brass agent, Ari Gold, and the possibility of him opening up a NFL franchise in L.A.  Entourage is a show I have watched since it began over eight years ago.  Each year it seems to progressively get worse and worse while using the same redundant story-lines.  Nevertheless, my commitment is similar to the longtime friend whose drunk, embarrassing and obnoxious.  We have been together to long to break it off now … I am stuck for life.  Here’s the clip:

Super Talk, Meet Your Conscience

During this part of the offseason, NFL storylines are few and far between.  OTA’s are underway, and we are about eight or nine weeks until the start of training camp.  Therefore, many times reporters, bloggers and the media world will reach to get their headlines.  In Dallas, the focus has been on Dez Bryant and Roy Williams on the field.  Off the field?  Well, there has been some Super chatter.  You are beginning to hear mur-mur’s of the Cowboys possibly playing in the Superbowl at their home stadium – a feat that has never occurred in Superbowl history.  Radio hosts and former players are voicing their opinions on this very topic.  The most recent headline came from Cowboy great, Roger Staubach:

Summer Movie Update; OTA Report

As summer approaches, the popcorn flicks begin to pile upon us.  Every other week there’s either giant robots destroying the world or magical daggers that will save Persia.  Unfortunately these movies do nothing for me.  However, in the midst of all the Jake Gyllenhaal and Nicholas Cage wizardry you can find some real gems in this year’s summer movie crop.

Draft Review Rounds Two Through Seven

On day one of the draft, the Cowboys moved up a few spots to grab Dez Bryant, WR from Oklahoma St.  I discussed this bold but brilliant move on Saturday.  The rest of the draft netted the Cowboys four defensive players and one offensive lineman.  In what many are calling a great draft for Jerry Jones and his Cowboys, here is the breakdown.
