Anthony Hitchens: Player of the Week!

Autumn St. Clair Featured, Players of the Week Leave a Comment

In this game when your number is called you have to step up! That’s exactly what our rookie linebacker has done following injuries that have left him with some pretty big shoes to fill. Following his stellar performance against the Colts, Anthony Hitchens has received this weeks honor. Can we just start by clapping it up for our entire defense, who played as a unit and undeniably had their best defensive performance of the season. The seven tackles, two pass deflections and first career interception that Anthony produced assisted with the stellar defensive display. I was convinced that Hitchens would prove to be a solid player when we drafted him, however I didn’t expect that he would get his chance to shine as quickly as he has. He’s proven to be versatile; playing at all three linebacker positions, as well as consistent; sitting on 74 tackles so far for the season.

He’s a physical player and 9 times out of 10 you can spot him within a few yards of whoever has the ball. These are the type of young, talented players that we need on the team if we’re going to continue to grow. You can see the passion that he has for the game and I’m sure that Hitchens will continue to develop at a rapid pace. He also has the honor of being nominated for The Pepsi Rookie of the Week award, so make sure to log on to www.nfl.com/rookies to vote before Friday at 2pm. Thanks for all your hard work Anthony and we’re happy to have you on our 11-4, NFC East Champion, America’s team… Dallas Cowboys!!!!!
